Westfeeds announced that it has reached an agreement with Superior Feeds to purchase their facility in Chester, Montana. Officials from both companies anticipate that the sale will close by mid-September 2011.
Officials from Westfeeds are looking forward to the addition of this plant to their manufacturing facilities and feel it will complement the company's existing plants in Billings, Great Falls and Miles City. With retail stores in Billings, Dillon, Great Falls, Lewistown and Miles City this purchase will enhance Westfeed's ability to provide customers with products for their livestock from a local manufacturer. Westfeed's marketing territory covers the state of Montana, Northern Wyoming, Eastern Idaho, Western North and South Dakota.
Don Cloud, President and CEO of Westfeeds said, "Purchase of this property will enable us to better serve producers in the highline area of Northern Montana and will expand our business into the rolled grain products."
Superior Feeds has been serving the Golden Triangle area of Montana since 1994. They offer a number of different livestock feeds including rolled, pelleted and cube rations for all types of livestock. Superior Feeds is a full service facility including manufacturing and delivery to customers.
Westfeeds was established in 2003 after a group of local investors purchased the Montana based feed assets of ConAgra. The company manufactures and distributes livestock and companion animal nutrition products serving the Northern Plains region with locations in Billings, Dillon, Great Falls, Lewistown and Miles City.
