Partners Roger Daniel and Andrew Hayashidu celebrated the opening of Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes at 2695 King Ave. W. in Billings, last week. It is the first in the state, but more are planned according to Daniel, who owns the franchise for Montana and Wyoming.

Daniel said he traveled the country trying out different restaurants – Mooyah Burgers were the best. The growing franchise chain reflects a trend in "burger joints." It's part of the "fast casual movement," said Danial. "People are getting more picky about their food," said Daniel, "They don't want to pay the high ticket prices, but they don't want to give up convenience either."

Daniel decided that Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes was right for Billings because there is nothing like else like it anywhere in Montana. Daniel plans to change that as fast as he can as he pursues expanding his franchise rights throughout Montana and Wyoming over the next seven years.

Mooyah has ranked in the top ten of FastCasual.com's annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list for several years in a row. BurgerBusiness, an online news site dedicated exclusively to the burger biz, also included MOOYAH in its list of "11 Burger Chains to Watch in 2011.

Every bun is freshly baked on site, at Mooyah, and each burger includes a choice of sauces, fresh veggies, and four kinds of cheese.

Health conscious guests have the choice of "Iceburger," a patty wrapped in iceberg lettuce. The Veggie burger and turkey burgers are favorites for those looking for an alternative.

Fries are made from potatoes that are hand-cut in house and fried in trans-fat free oil. Milkshakes are hand-spun from pure Dreyer's ice cream with flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or Oreo.

Eric Hyde will manage the Billings store, according to Daniel, who is a third generation Billings entrepreneur. Daniel continues the operation of a family founded insurance firm, Roger Daniel Ins Agency Inc., 2047 Broadwater Ave. Ste. 1.

Mooyah has ranked in the top ten of FastCasual.com's annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list for several years in a row.

Mooyah is based in Frisco, Texas and began franchising in 2007. The company offers online and text message ordering, and a cookout trailer for corporate, social and fundraising events.
