When it comes to people being “sad,” Billings ranks about average, earning a C+ for happiness in a survey done by “Men’s Health.”
The saddest of places, despite having so much sunshine, is St. Petersberg, Florida.
The grades were based upon suicide rates, unemployment rates and the number of households that use antidepressants, as well as the number of people who report feeling “the blues all or most of the time.”
Other sad locations were Detroit and Tampa. In the western part of the country Reno and Las Vegas were among the saddest. Looking for happy? Honolulu, Hawaii is the place to go; or Manchester, NH or Fargo, ND.
