The Montana Contractors' Association (MCA) in conjunction with Big Sky Economic Development, Montana Petroleum Association and Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson (KL&J) announce six renowned energy experts as keynote speakers for Montana Energy 2012 on April 3 and 4 at the MetraPark in Billings. "The speaker line-up provides a sophisticated level of expertise to the conference. Their experience spans numerous organizations and countries and are sure to benefit Montana throughout our energy opportunities," said Cary Hegreberg, MCA executive director.
Tuesday, April 3
--Dr. William F. Whitsitt, executive vice president of Public Affairs at Devon Energy Corporation will kick off the event with a discussion on making Montana an energy powerhouse. - Dr. Patrick Barkey, director, Bureau of Business and Economic Research, University of Montana will present the economic impact of coal development in Montana.
-- Dr. Michael J. Economides, a highly recognized geopolitical energy expert will deliver the luncheon keynote address regarding Montana and how it fits into the global picture.
--Thomas B. Nusz, president and CEO of Oasis Petroleum, Inc. will discuss the efforts Oasis Petroleum has put into Montana and where they see Montana's energy future.
--Rounding out the first day of Montana Energy 2012 is Senior Vice President, Marketing and Government Affairs of Cloud Peak Energy, Jim Orchard.
Wednesday, April 4
-- The second day opens with Dr. Gerald Groenewold, director of Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC). Groenewold will discuss the future of carbon sequestration and enhanced oil recovery.
-- Keynote addresses wrap-up with William L. Kovacs, senior vice president, Environment, Technology and Regulatory Affairs Decision, U.S. Chamber of Commerce with a look at the big picture for Montana energy.
The two-day comprehensive energy conference and trade show will uncover opportunities for energy development throughout Montana.
