YWCA Billings Says Thanks To Donors at Fall Social

Expressing appreciation to donors who help YWCA-Billings achieve its mission of saving and changes lives, the 105-year old organization hosted a patio party on Sept. 25 at YWCA headquarters. Honored guests included many past board members and Margaret Ping whose leadership and support of the YWCA Billings dates back to the 1960s. Over a span of 35 years, Ping also served YWCAs in other U.S. cities and internationally in Peru and Mexico.

Billings Curling Club Launched, Introduction Clinics Oct. 13 & 14

Curling is one of the fastest growing sports in the US, and not to be left out, Billings now has its own curling club – The Billings Curling Club – and founder, Darryl Sobering is seeking enough participants to field two leagues.

To introduce locals to the sport Sobering is holding two clinics on Oct. 13 and 14 at Centennial Arena . Growing up near Ottawa in Ontario, Canada, Sobering has curled since the age of ten. Now a businessman in Billings, Sobering was missing the sport which he said is sort of like golf only more social.

St. Jude Dream Home Groundbreaking in Ironwood Estates

St Jude grdbreakingDozens of local builders, contractors and suppliers will join Image Builders to build a house valued at over $400,000 to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A groundbreaking was held in Ironwood Estates, on Aug. 28, on a lot donated by Wells Brothers. The house will be the second St. Jude Dream Home to be raffled in Billings.

Representatives of Image Builders, KTVQ, Benedetti Media Group, Cellular Plus, St. Jude Dream Home Chair Wayne Nelson, and local St. Jude patient James Buchanan and family were all in attendance for the momentous occasion.
