The 2012 Economic Outlook Seminars, presented annually by the Bureau of Business and Economic Research, University of Montana, will largely focus, this year, on what is happening in The Bakken and the oil boom of Eastern Montana.

Entitled, "What are the Prospects?" the program will be presented in nine Montana communities. It will be held in Billings on Tuesday, January 31 at the Crowne Plaza.

"Ranchers are receiving $1 million royalty checks. Homeowners are renting unheated garages to oil. workers for $600 a month. And new technology has opened up 4 billion barrels of oil in The Bakken. Hear from Tom Richmond of the Montana Board of Oil and Gas on whether the energy boom is here to stay.

The first program will be held in Helena on January 24, followed by Great Falls, Jan. 25; Missoua, Jan. 27; Bozeman, Feb. 1; Butte Feb. 2; Kalispell, Feb. 10; Lewistown, March 13 and Havre, March 14.
