Montana Community Development Corporation (Montana CDC) is SBA's 2012 Financial Services Champion for Montana.
For more than two decades, Montana CDC has provided access to capital and free one-on-one business consulting to Montana businesses. In pursuit of its mission, Montana CDC offers two core products: business financing and business consulting.
Montana CDC's financing products consist of a loan fund that provides small business loans and New Markets Tax Credit financing. Additionally, Montana CDC offers high quality consulting services through Small Business Development Centers located in Missoula and Bozeman, a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) in Missoula and Kalispell, specialized business training programs, and professional assistance grants.
Since 1986, Montana CDC has lent over $80 million to more than 400 borrowers and has provided consulting services to thousands of clients who are starting or expanding their business. Montana CDC continues year after year to reach deeper into rural areas and have a greater impact on people below the poverty level. Four years ago, Montana CDC expanded services from a five county region to the entire state of Montana.
Montana CDC received this year's award because of their continued commitment to Montana's small business community.
Travis Wright, of Stockman Bank of Montana, nominated Montana CDC for this award.
